Home Insulation Program

Get up to 20% Savings on Your Energy Costs with the Johns Manville “Check Your Fill…Lower Your Bill” Retrofit Home Insulation Program

The “Check Your Fill…Lower Your Bill” program was developed to make homes more energy efficient by using Johns Manville Formaldehyde-free™ Insulation. After an energy audit of your home, THIS will make recommendations on how you can take advantage of the benefits of the program and save money on your energy costs.

Insulation has two key functions, thermal protection and sound control. To maximize the thermal protection of your home in all seasons, insulate exterior walls, attics, ceilings, floors, and crawl spaces. To keep noise from traveling from room to room, insulate interior walls and floors.

Since insulation is designed to reduce heat transfer from warmer to colder climates, adding the highest R-value available can maintain indoor temperature year around, lower energy  bills; and maximize the energy efficiency of your home.

Choose the correct R-value for your project and climate to maximize energy efficiency and temperature control. R-values indicate the level of resistance to heat flow.

The higher the R-value the greater the temperature control. JM recommends using the highest R-value available that is appropriate for the cavity size you’re filling.

In addition to improving your comfort, insulation can help keep out unwanted noise. When remodeling, adding insulation to interior walls can help reduce appliance, TV, stereo, computer, and ventilation noise from traveling from room to room. All JM formaldehyde-free™ Fiber Glass insulation is rated for sound control and is effective at reducing both exterior and interior noise.

The right choice of insulation will make jobs go more quickly and help control moisture. Choose between batts or rolls depending on your project. Rolls require measuring and cutting and are ideal for long, unobstructed areas such as an attic or floor. For standard size walls or a crawl space, pre-cut batts make the job go fast with fewer hassles.

Insulation wrapped in plastic or with a Kraft-paper facing provides moisture control other products can’t match. Whether you live in a cool, dry climate or a hot and humid one, install JM moisture control insulation into exterior walls to help keep moisture out. Different climates can require different insulation of the vapor retarder so check with a professional for information on proper installation in your area.

Johns Manville ComfortTherm batts are encapsulated fiber glass insulation, which means you experience less itch and dust during installation. Plus, ComfortTherm provides twice the moisture protection of a Kraft-faced product.
